Gaming Industry Employees Licence
Step By Step Instructions
Apply for your Credit Check by going to www.vedaadvantage.com, completing the application form online and paying the fee.
Go to www.vcglr.vic.gov.au and complete the Gaming Industry Employee Licence application form and print it out. NOTE: Your preferred name must appear on your police check and credit check!!!
Go to www.police.vic.gov.au and complete the Police Check Application Form making sure you apply for the Name Check AND Fingerprint Check and print it out.
Photocopy 100 points of ID (Instructions on the Police website), take the photocopies AND the originals to get your fingerprints and palm prints taken.
Melbourne Metropolitan applicants must go to the VCGLR in North Richmond for this procedure whilst Regional Victorian applicants need only go to your local Police station.
You will be given your fingerprints back, then you must send those, photocopies of your IDs, the Police Check Application Form and a cheque or money order for the prescribed fee to the post office box in Melbourne for the Vic Police.
Whilst you are waiting for your checks to come back, get your passport photo’s done. NOTE: You ARE allowed to smile in a gaming licence passport photo!!! Make it a good one. It’s gunna be hangin around your neck for 10 years!!! LOL
When you get your Police Check back and your Credit Check back, put those into an envelope with your gaming licence application form, 2 passport photo’s and a cheque, money order or credit card details for the prescribed fee and send it all to the VCGR at the PO Box address on the application form.
As long as the checks are ok and all the paperwork is filled out correctly, you should receive your Gaming Licence in approximately 2 weeks.
NOTE: If you have a dodgy credit record or a police record, don’t panic… I know of someone who is twice bankrupt and has a gaming licence, and I also know of someone who had a police check the size of a phone book and he also obtained a gaming licence. The VCGR take every case on its merits. If you have doubts, ring the VCGLR and discuss your situation.
If you have any queries about this process, don’t hesitate to ring the VCGLR. They have a whole Licensing section set up to help you.
For any information regarding your Gaming Industry Employees Licence or the Gambling Regulation Act 2003, log onto the Victorian Commission For Gambling Regulation website at www.vcglr.vic.gov.au.
